Dis, dat, n de utter ting

Long rambling post, just because I can.

First off, it was freakin' COLD last night.  Had to break out the electric blankey early it seems.  And turn on the heat.  But at least it was officially October, so that's a wee bit better.  Turning the heat on in September is just wrong.

Ok, my thoughts on Supernatural 5.04, but I'll leave the really thinky thoughts to those who like to put some thought into things.

Woo hoo!!  The beginning was just too funny.  I firmly believe that for a change, the writers on the show are "borrowing the boys" from the fanfic writers.  There were several elements of this episode that I've already seen in lots of fic that I've read.  There was the phone conversation where Sam and Dean talk about this "thing" between them, not sure if it's family, or love or whatever.  So many things we can read into that.  Future!Dean sending his friends off to be cannon fodder.  And the biggie, of course, is Dean admitting he liked wearing the pink, satin undies.  I laughed so hard my dog got really worried about me.  She's so protective, yanno?  And then hippie!Cas and the orgies!  I loved it.  Not to mention he's one of those guys who makes scruffy look reeeealy hot!  Woo boy!  Then at the end, we get Sam and Dean back together.  A wee bit on the guarded side, and I have to admit I really felt the "I wanna trust you, man, but please don't stick me with Ruby's dagger" vibe that Dean was giving off big time.  So yay!  Sam and Dean back together and all is well.

What?  Go away little voice in the back of my head.  Yes, I've been dabbling in Dean/Cas, so what!  My Sony reader has lots of space AND I can add memory cards if needed so I can too like both pairings.  Sheese, some people.

All in all, I'm happy with the way the show is going so far.  I think they're really playing to the fanfic lovers among us and that's ok because I'm finding it entertaining and that's the point right?  To be entertaining.

Onward we go.

Sniper!Gibbs.  More hotness than any one fangirl could possibly want.  Yes yes, wee little voice, the whole episode was wildly impossible, but it, too, was entertaining.  Gibbs is like Superman and Batman and every superhero we could ever think up all rolled into one.  And Tony's adoring look at the end when he shows up all menacing and shadowy at the end of the hall!  Yes yes, more buttons pushed in such a good way.  In reality, don't those shooting skills degrade if you don't practice like, daily?  But, it's Gibbs.  He can do anything and I'll love him always.

Leverage.  For me, this is a strange little show.  But I like it.  It smacks of Mission Impossible in so many ways that sometimes I'm not sure I'll continue watching.  Then they do something, either witty banter or really hit me with some topic near and dear and I decide, ok, lets watch some more.  Must hunt down some fic for this.  Maybe that will help the character gel a bit more.

Finally, knitting.  The charted shawl and I have come to a meeting of the minds and is progressing nicely.  Soon I'll have to learn a new skill, BLOCKING!  Yes, yes.  I've gone all these knitterly years and never blocked a single thing.  Sue me, I'm a bad knitter.  But this is lace and must be blocked.

So those are my thoughts on this frosty...What?  Ok, so its not actualy FROST, but is still damn chilly this morning.  Got to get that little voice some music going so she'll leave me alone.

SPN was just fantastic! I'm not sure, but I think I like future dean Better than present Dean, despite the dubious ethics and the bad attitude. He just has something going for him, eh?

Oh, and check this out: http://www.afterelton.com/blog/michaeljensenn/supernatural-first-facebook-recap

Rats! The link when off into the nether for some reason.

But yeah, future Dean is like a continuation of that episode (not sure which one because I've only watched season 4 once) where he had to torture Alistair. It's something he didn't want to do but could when called upon. Or something like that.
