I Think I Missed The Point
My SWTOR Imperial Agent Operative finished his class storyline last night.
Let's start with Hunter because, oooh baby! Hunter had me going from the first. I just never imagined that Hunter would be a female. But it was a great surprise! My guy got to kiss her and they had a brief h/c moment which wouldn't have happened otherwise. I don't think. I mean, they haven't put in the s/s relationships yet, so it really had me going there for a while. Hunter and Zechs really had some serious chemistry even though they were trying to kill each other for the last two levels or so. So that was pretty ok in my book.
I guess my confused-ness comes from a feeling of, is that all there is? My guy wiped all trace of his existence with the Black Codex and then goes off to serve the Empire whenever they need him? This is the part I'm having trouble with. He is neutral all the way. I mean, he has like 4750 light and 4600 dark points in total. And the interesting this about this is, I didn't notice he was neutral until about level 30. So he has done lots of really, really eeevil things in his career. Actually most of the major plot points along the way were dark side with the lesser points going into light to keep things balanced once I noticed the trend.
There was no major battle at the end other than Hunter. I felt that getting past the elite droids was harder than actually defeating Hunter. And it's because I have uber skillz or anything. I just sicced SCORPIO on Hunter and sat back and healed. I watched this video and have to say, the vidder's conversation choices and mine were almost exactly the same. And we both flew off into the black at the end. I am still sort of left with the feeling that I have missed the point.
Maybe it's because I chose to stay neutral. I mean, where did Darth Jadus go? He just said, see yez, I'm off to Tahiti to check out the babes, you're on your on now. Also, there was no show down with the Minister of Intelligent, or whatever the old, bald dude's title is. We never got along anyway because my guy was always a sarcastic bastard whenever they talked.
It's possible this story line may be closer to the early Mara Jade before the Thrawn series happened. I just finished reading Choices of One and I felt that she had that "I'm only accountable to the Emperor, you can't tell me what to do, but I do have a conscience so I'll sort of have a purpose" thing going on.
It's obvious that I'm going to have to make two more Imperial Agents. One light side and the other dark, so I see and compare the differences.
And then there's SCORPIO. OMG! That's turning out to be an interesting little twist.

I didn't see the Hunter thing coming either, which in retrospect was kind of silly, as I was like, "Wow...she really is one of the girliest villains ever". (Like, I knew that she flirted a lot with male agent, too, and kept being like, "Well, I guess they just wanted a flamboyantly gay villain. Although really, Hunter just comes off as really girly.") Oh well. I was fairly sad that as a female character, you mostly just get some weird stuff as they weren't going to let you actually kiss Hunter as a girl, no matter how flirty you'd been. *sigh* Oh well. Will just sulk on my own over in this corner and console myself with the Aristocra Saganu kiss...and level my male agent.
I found the end kind of weird, too. Like, it almost felt more like a prologue to me than an ending. (As it feels like it's a great set up for more.) I was 100% LS, and I'm not entirely sure what happened other than that I erased myself and am off probably slowly going even more crazy. I kept feeling like I was supposed to be doing something for the Star Cabal, but for the life of me, I don't know what they wanted me to do so...yargh. Unsure. I'm really hoping for an expansion that sorts things out a bit. (And maybe gives more insight on everything. Like, the Star Cabal obviously had some kind of grand plan for my character, but I have no freaking clue what it was.)
I don't know what's up with Jaedus, either. *sigh* And, yeah, Hunter was a pretty easy kill (I think your average silver was about equally hard). Which was fine as I'm not sure that Hunter was supposed to be this super elite warrior but still...it felt so easy that it was kind of anti-climactic.
I got a last conversation with Minister, as I sided with him, which was pretty cool, actually. He's a very interesting character. But no real show down, for better or worse.
I do think that Mara Jade is probably the closest Star Wars approximation for agent. (Which is kind of funny as everyone on the boards seems convinced that it's James Bond. What? NO! Have they not read the books?)
