Two weeks later
Sep. 24th, 2007 07:24 amSo, I have survived the last of my children leaving the nest...I think. It was very traumatic the weekend she moved out, but I didn't fight the sadness and I think that helped. Slowly the house is being transformed from a place where a family used to live. Which really means there isn't mess in every room and I have plans for the bedroom that she had taken over as a "game" room with all her video games. I just have totally enjoyed the quiet, or if I felt the need to play the piano in the middle of the day (she worked mids so I couldn't do that when she was sleeping) I would. But, I think that's starting to wear off a bit now too and I'm ready for some action. Errr...not sure what kind or how much though.
The knitting front has seen me complete the tulip heel socks with the understanding that I SUCK at color strand knitting. The afghan from hell is still 10 rows away from being complete and I have a sneaky suspicion will stay that way for a while. I have also decided I'm a yarn snob. Yarn from just any old craft store won't do anymore. I need natural fibers and interesting colorways. Something that calls to be petted and nuzzled and doesn't feel like plastic when touched. Which means I'll be spending more on my credit card to satisfy my yarn habit. Oh well.
And finally, I'm about halfway through the second season of Starsky & Hutch. I've finally seen an episode that I remember. I can think of one other, but haven't seen it yet. Which is so strange, because I know I watched this show in reruns every night years ago. All I have to say is, they don't make'm like they used to. Hoowee baby. No wonder there's so much fic out there based on these two.
