Tis the season
Dec. 9th, 2007 08:15 amI was somewhat behind on my holiday shopping until yesterday. So, I just steeled myself and did a marathon shopping session at the mall. I have everyone gifted except the grandbabies, who really aren't babies anymore and should be promoted to grandkiddies. Their parents would like me to get them toys. Ok, I can do that. Sonny-boy and wife want pots and pans. Check. Son-in-law needs new linen. Got it covered. What does daughter-type want? A four hundred dollar software program that teaches Japanese. Now I'm all for her learning new things and I believe learning a new language is something Americans should have been doing since kindergarten, but I can't spend that type of dough on one gift. Yikes, I'm not rich. And of course that's all she wants. Perhaps a few less cutting edge game systems and she could make that purchase herself.
Knitting wise, I have paddled myself out of the knitterly River of Denial and accepted the fact that those two sweaters just aren't going to fit these particular grandchildren. Time to move on. So, I have new yarn and the goal of two new sweaters before Christmas. Un huh. My reasoning is that they are children, one 18 months and I can have that one mostly finished over the weekend. The other one will will close, but if I do nothing else and get off the computer NOW, I could possibly have it finished in time.
Anyhoo. On my wish list, which I know means I'll have to make these purchases myself, are Numb3rs, West Wing and Star Trek Enterprise. All three shows have really wow-ed me this year and I just can't live without them in my dvd collection. Oh yeah, hopefully someone will buy me a new shelf unit to store all these new dvds. Yo Santa, got some serious needs here! Oh yeah, and an elf or two to help me wrap would be nice.
