Odds and Ends

Because even though I'm at work, I'm not ready to really DO any work.
So far the audit is going ok. They haven't bugged the shit out of me as in previous years, but they still have two more days. I know they can do it if they really set their minds to it.
Have decided that as far as knitting goes, I have big time A.D.D. Or maybe just a short attention span, which is probably the same thing. I have always wanted to knit a flag afghan because I'm a geek and I just wanted it, damn it. So I finally found a pattern that I liked. All garder stitch, oh yeah with crocheted stars. Big needles so I knew it would go fast. The only problem is it has turned out to be HUGE! It fits the top of my queen sized bed and its not done yet. My god, its the flag from hell. Please don't read anything political here.
Anyway, I have 6 more stripes along the bottom at 192 stitches and 24 rows apiece and then I can start the crocheted part. But....and here's where the attention deficit part kicks in, I found this really neat lace scarf pattern and yarn that I just HAVE to make. And along the way I've discovered The Yarn Harlots blog about her rendition of the Kauni sweater and printed out the directions. This is a way more complicated project than anything I've ever done but I have a sneaky feeling I'll be ordering the yarn soon. UGH.
Which brings me to Star Trek Enterprise because my thoughts have no continuity whatsoever. I'm loving this show. I can't figure out why because the plots have all been done before and the graphics are kind of cheesy, just like the original, but I'm not feeling bored with any of the episodes. So yee ha!
And finally, my House Season 3 dvd's have just arrived. Just in time to get all caught up before season 4 starts in September. I haven't actually watched a series on "live" tv in forever. But for House, I will make an exception. Except I'll probably record and watch the next day so I can zip through all those annoying commercials.
I still don't feel like working.

Date: 2007-08-23 05:05 pm (UTC)Oh, Kauni. I want. I want so bad, but I am huge and fat and I would never be able to make one for myself. But for a friend? Hmm.
I never did see any of Enterprise. I love Scott Bakula, but. Yeah.

Date: 2007-08-24 11:39 am (UTC)And oh yeah. I have fallen in lust with that Kauni. I HAVE to have it. I will learn colorwork and steeking. I can do it. I just NEED this so bad. And I've made a deal with myself. I will order the yarn after I've lost 20 of the 40 pounds I've regained this past year. To that end, I went back to weight watchers last night. That yarn is as good as being worked up as we speak. I even got up and WALKED this morning.
As for Enterprise, I never saw it when it was on either. And for some reason I never watched Quantum Leap. Which given my love for sci fi is quite the mystery to me. Scott Bakula is a cutie though. Actually all the guys on that show are hot. I so need a life.
